The choice to have a natural birth was number one on my list for my birthing plan. Trusting your body, knowing that birth is a natural and safe experience is essential to your journey. Hiring a Midwife to help you navigate this experience will ease your mind. The guidance through Moonstone Midwifery is empowering and gentle.
Jessica “Veege” Ruediger, LDM, CPM first began attending births in Southern Oregon in 1996 as an apprentice and student midwife. In 2003, she earned a parallel BA in Women’s Reproductive Lives: Biology, Evolution, and Culture from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. She also completed Postpartum Doula training from Seattle Midwifery Schools, during her time in Washington. She then returned to the Rogue Valley to start a family, where both of her daughters were born at home.
After setting back down in the valley, she spent the next several years practicing the fine art of balancing parenting two young children with midwifery training, attending homebirths as an apprentice and an assistant midwife. In the summer of 2010, she interned at Mercy Maternity Center in Davao City, Philippines. She received her national midwifery certification in 2011, to become a Certified Professional Midwife. She was voted one of Southern Oregon’s favorite midwives in Oregon Healthy Living of 2011. In 2011 she co-founded Oak Grove Midwifery, a group midwifery practice serving Southern Oregon. After obtaining her Oregon State License of Direct Entry Midwifery in August of 2013, she started a private practice, Moonstone Midwifery.
Your Midwife Veege offers care from prenatal and postpartum. You will receive routine prenatal visits along with education. This is the time you will be working on your birth plan. How you want to go about your birthing experience is totally up to you.
The benefits of water birth are endless. Feeling weightless for easy transition of birthing positions. Relieving pressure from sitting or lying. The warmth of the water helps to ease labor pains.
Not only is delayed cord clamping essential for your baby’s health, but keeping your placenta is key for your healing. I highly recommend having your placenta professionally dried and encapsulated. In addition to taking your daily dose from this beautiful organ of life will not only balance your hormones but will also help with milk production and healing.
Finding the right Midwife to gently guide you through this magical time is so very important. Along with having a strong sense of your body and a solid birthing plan is key. To help you come up with a strong birthing plan read my blog here.
