Located at 413 W. Main St., The Children’s Museum started out as Kid Time, founded as a non-profit in 1998. Their current location is their newest and permanent location, offering a variety of exhibits and activities. Their hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM. Learning Through Play exhibits include Lyn’s Little Learners, The Makery, and The Gathering Grove. Their STEAM Forest exhibit consists of a water lab, a wind lab, a sound lab, and the light lab. They also have The Lookout, The Lumber Yard, Wildlife Rescue, Farm to Table, Safe and Sound Medical Center, and Adventure Mountain, with more exhibits in the works. They have a three-month membership, six-month membership, and a twelve-month membership. Their regular admission fees are free for children under a year old.
With their office located at 3040 Biddle Road, Applegate Lake is a 988-acre lake formed in 1980 when the Army Corps of Engineers completed the 242-foot Applegate Dam. The lake has a multitude of opportunities available for things to do in Medford, including:
Applegate Lake is home to numerous birds and other wildlife species, outstanding fisheries, and a plethora of diverse plant life for those seeking spring and early-summer wildflower viewing! There is also a trail that travels around the 17.5-mile long shoreline and offshoots in the area to keep hikers, bicyclists, and equestrians going! You can find picnic and day-use areas around the lake, as well as swimming areas and campgrounds. The lake is perfect for a day trip with the kids or a weekend camping trip!
Located at 334 Holmes Avenue, Fichtner-Mainwaring Park is a 31-acre community park offering many things to do in Medford, perfect for a family outing. Open every day from 6 AM to 10:30 PM, you’ll find:
